Dr. Alexander Chang, DDS
To earn his Doctorate of Dental Science degree, Dr. Chang graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 2011 and continued his training by seeking certification in Invisalign and dental implant placement and restoration in order to deliver quality, comprehensive services to his patients. He also attended DOCS Education to receive certification in Oral Conscious Sedation for Adult Patients in 2015.
Dr. Chang values being able to contribute to his community by educating patients and making a positive impact on their oral health. He approaches both small cases and full-mouth cases with the same philosophy – offering the best dental treatment available so patients can have healthy, confident smiles.
Growing up, Dr. Chang spent most of his youth in Laguna Hills, attending Laguna Hills High School, and then to the University of California at Irvine before heading to New York to attend NYU. He then returned to Orange County and has recently started his own dental practice, Formosa Dental Arts, and is ready to make a difference in his community!
In his free time, Dr. Chang enjoys creating memories with his family. He enjoys basketball and tennis to stay active. When expressing his creative side, you may find him playing piano or guitar.
Dr. Michael Liu, DMD
Dr. Michael Liu grew up in Tustin and attended Foothill High School. He received his bachelors degree from Claremont McKenna College while also playing on the baseball and golf teams earning All-American Scholar Honors. Shortly after, he moved to Boston and attained his DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During his time in dental school, he was recognized on the Dean's List and held the position of Mission Trip Coordinator where he led trips to provide dental care to underserved communities in the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Liu strives to provide the highest quality of care for his patients by staying current on the latest advancements in dentistry through continuing education. He received his implant training from the Misch International Implant Institute and holds a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He also underwent advanced training in comprehensive dentistry at the prestigious Kois Center. Locally, he is a member of the Orange County Dental Study Club.
Dr. Liu believes the foundation of a patient-doctor relationship depends on honesty, compassion, and commitment to quality. By taking the time to get to know each patient, he is better able to understand their concerns and deliver more personalized care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Liu enjoys spending time with his wife in their never ending quest to find the best desserts in Orange County. He also enjoys playing in a weekly recreational softball league and tries to get out on the golf course when he gets the chance.
Emily Liu, DDS
Dr. Emily Liu is a general dentist who grew up in Tustin, California. She graduated with her bachelors degree from University of California, Irvine and received her DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time at Tufts, Dr. Liu was awarded the Senior Award from the American Academy of Orofacial Pain through her contributions towards clinical practice in Temporomandibular Disorders.
Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Liu completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at NYU Langone in Brooklyn, New York, where she gained further experience treating medically complex patients in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Liu is a member of the California Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Society, and the Orange County Dental Study Club.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Liu enjoys playing in a weekly recreational sand volleyball league along with spending time with family.
Ryan Duong, RDH
Hygienist
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree at West Coast University in 2021. Along with intensive training and continuing education, Ryan always seek new opportunities and challenges to further his knowledge about dentistry and latest dental technology in order to provide his patients with the most optimal dental treatments for all ages and conditions.
Ryan immigrated to the United States from Vietnam and attended Northwood High School in Irvine. After high school, Ryan started working in the hospitality industry while attending Irvine Valley College in pursuit of the Associate Degree in Psychology. During the time he worked in the hospitality industry, he learned many valuable and precious skills in customer service and building great relationship with others, which enabled him to create many meaningful connections with his future patients.
Ryan strives to provide the highest quality of care for his patients while developing a family-like relationship with his patients through sharing his knowledge about various dental care techniques to help the patients improve their home-care routine as well as oral vs. systemic health relationship. For Ryan, it is the most rewarding experience when he could help make a positive impact on his patients’ life by helping them maintaining their healthy smile and improving their quality of life through each dental care appointment.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with friends and family. He also likes traveling and trying new delicious foods places with his fiancé. Ryan is always welcoming new different experiences, please share your travel/foods recommendations with him!
